099 Final Project: Organic Meal

I really like to have simple meal for my Saturday brunch, because I usually get up a little bit late on Saturday, but simple meal also can be tasty and healthy. Today I woke up at 10am, I decided to buy some organic food from Key Food and have a great brunch to start my wonderful weekend. I am thinking about to make a Chinese & Korean style fried rice, I have already had a shopping list in my mind before I went shopping.

Food Lists:
Chicken Breasts (Organic): $8.72 for 0.97lb.
Farm – Grown Eggs (Organic): $4.99/dozen
Chopped Scallion
Korean Kimchi (Purchase from Asian supermarket on local Flushing)
Green Tea (Organic)
Rice
Italian olive oil

The Scallion and Korean Kimchi was purchased from Asian supermarket on local Flushing, because Key food actually doesn’t sell Scallions and Kimchi. Additionally, the rice and Kimchi from Asian supermarket can be truly traditional and tasty.

Next, Chop the Chicken breasts to be a shape of square. I decided to soake it with salt for 10 minutes just to make it tasty; otherwise, it will be no flavor after we fried it. The color of chopped chicken breasts shows like smoked chicken after I fried it “Lightly”. Also, I choose to use olive oil, because it’s long been reported that there are numbers of health benefits of olive oil, it contains valuable vitamins and nutrients, and it is loaded with antioxidants, which many believe help protect the body from cancer.

Finally, simply put everything into pan and fried them with quick speed and strength. Remember that, rice should be cook until it becomes dried, lightly wet rice doesn’t tasted good.

The total meal cost about $15, but I only used part of the food I purchased today. Thus, the total material cost for this brunch is less than $5! Can you believe it? Five dollar for an organic meal! Well, I guest it can only happen if we made it at home, plus, home – made food always healthier and cleaner than eating outside. It already made my day after I finished this meal.
